Finally, a weekend off from work. Fall is here which means it is fair season. Carnival rides and games, petting zoos, food trucks. On Saturday morning, we pulled the family truckster into the Wapping Fair parking lot twenty minutes before they started selling tickets.
T, R, A and I spent the morning walking the grounds, petting cows and naked neck chickens, eating candied apples and fried Oreos. Ramiro faced his fear of heights by riding the Ferris wheel with me (twice) and the spinning swings. I can't remember the last time I felt so dizzy and content at the same time. A had two birthday parties to attend after the fair. R and I went back in the evening, just the two of us. We rode the Ferris wheel one more time, got tossed around on the smallest, most rickety roller coaster I've ever ridden, watched a pig race and fired a BB gun at a paper star. Everyone is looking forward to the next fair, but this one will hold a magical place in my memory.
